Chrissa and John's Wedding

It was So great to get back to COMO to see the old gang!  Mom and Dad even took me back to my first house.  My, how the Redbud and Japanese Maple have grown!

Our trip started out Wednesday the 18th of May.  We stayed with our very best friends, Greg, Julia, and Hannah the first night.  We got to witness and participate in Hannah's very special bedtime ritual which involved 3 stories told by her mommy, a game of duck-duck-goose (or chase each other around the house frantically), and hide-and-go-seek.  No wonder bed time starts so early in the Mees household!!

We got to Columbia the next afternoon.  Daddy talked with some friends about business stuff, but I didn't understand and therefore didn't care.  We got to our hotel at Stephen's College--right next to down town!  We got to walk all around downtown Columbia and hear Mom and Dad tell stories of when I was just a baby.  We went to the new student center and Nate and I got Mizzou hats.  That evening we went to a BBQ at Chrissa and John's house.  Nate and I heard a rumor that Sadie liked to be tickled, so we tested that theory several times!  Nate also snuggled right up to Carl when he was watching the racing pit crew competition on TV.  We also got to meet Annie the first time (Daddy met her last year, but she was just a baby) and see our other great Columbia friends too!

The rehearsal was the next day, and it went well--Nate was excited to be in the wedding.  When he tried on his tux at the mall he cried because he had to take it off.  He was so handsome, even for my brother!

The Rehearsal dinner was at Les Bourgeois winery.  Chrissa and John didn't seem nervous at all!  Nate fell in love with Sadie when she scuffed her heel on the sidewalk.  He looked up at her and said, "Sadie, you tooted!"  Daddy asked him if that made him love her even more, and he nodded yes, of course!

Wedding Day's here!  All the girls are getting prettied-up!

While the girls got ready, we went to some old hangouts--Stephen's Park (spray park, nice lake, scary snakes, new waterfalls), Flat Branch, University Book store; and some new places for us (Gumby's Pizza and a couple self-serve yogurt joints!)

The wedding finally came, and Nate did a great job as the Ring Bear.  Everything about the service was perfect, and John and Chrissa drove off in a shiny yellow Corvette.  We just couldn't wait for the dance!!!

Since we were all dressed up for once, Mom and Dad made us take tons of pictures.  Yuk!

But as soon as the dance started, we were rearin' to go!!  I had to fight off another little girl to dance with a boy I liked.  Mostly I just chased him.  But I did save the last dance for Daddy.  I think he might have had something in his eye, cause he kept rubbing them.

We crashed pretty hard that night.  Dad told us we looked "hung over" a lot that morning.  Wonder what that means...

One of our favorite parts of the wedding was the photo booth!  We all wanted pictures with Sadie-Poo!!!
